Promoting positive outcomes for young people and providing a safe, nurturing and caring environment for young people to thrive.

Achieving Positive Educational Outcomes for Young People

    Who we are

Pathfinders believe in promoting positive outcomes for young people.  We ensure that we support young people to engage in some form of education, training or employment.  We devise education schemes and objectives for our young people in line with their pathway plans and objectives set at the PEP meeting.  We assist young people to adhere to targets set at their PEP meetings.

With young people who for one reason or the other are not able to engage in formal education, Pathfinders work with Social Workers and Virtual Education Workers in identifying vocational training and apprenticeship schemes for those young people. We endure that we develop clear career pathways for our young people, we explore and incorporate their views about their educational objectives, we develop SMART educational plans for young people and for young people who require additional educational support; we work closely with Social Workers to explore funding opportunities for those young people needing help and for extra tuition funding for specific subject areas.

    Why choose us

At Pathfinder, we provide child-centred care and support services to children and young people in our care.

Pathfinders operate on the principle that children and young people can achieve when they are provided with the right level of support and intervention. We believe in engaging young people in productive activities and providing them with the right environment to thrive. We do this by engaging young people in keyworking sessions (budging sessions, cooking sessions etc, incorporating young people’s views, wishes and feelings in our care planning; as well as supporting young people to build their resilience and self-esteem.

We are a forward-thinking organisation and innovative in our approach to working with Local Authorities, agencies as well as with young people and their families. Our operations and practices are underpinned by social care policies and procedures such as the Missing Persons Protocol, Every Child Matters Agenda (ECM), London Child Protection Procedures; Social Work theories i.e Empowerment, Advocacy, Empowerment; Child Care legislations i.e. The Children Act 1989, The Human Right Act 1998, The Housing Act 2004, Immigration Act 2016, Data Protection Act 2018, General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) – 2018, The Leaving Care Act 2000 and the Children and Young People Act 2017 etc.

Pathfinders aims to empower and equip young people to overcome these challenges and support them into independence by meeting their individual care needs and offering a high quality service.
